China’s 20th Communist Party Central Committee has adopted a resolution on strengthening full and rigorous Party self-governance following its fifth plenary session in Beijing. The four-day meeting, chaired by the Political Bureau, reviewed the Party’s governance priorities, with General Secretary Xi Jinping delivering an address and explaining the draft resolution. The resolution outlines plans to reinforce Party discipline, improve oversight, strengthen management of officials and intensify the fight against corruption. It also emphasizes the importance of democratic centralism, stronger Party organizations and tighter institutional regulations.
